Affording Christian Education

Christian families desire to give their children a strong foundation in the faith. As Proverbs 22:6 states:

Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

The most influential environment in a students life is the school. But, the most important influences in a students life is the home, church and the school. When students are served a Christ centered education that aligns with the teachings of the home and church, students will be much more likely to continue in their faith beyond the school years.

Parents seeking Christian education to equip their children for the long run may be making an investment into the next generation while making an eternal impact. There is often one hold up for parents when making the move to a Christian education. Cost! Christian education is not free. Because Christian schooling is not a government supported educational program, parents are left to fill the gap between the costs of educating their student by paying tuition.

How do Christian families afford tuition?

There are a number of ways that Christian families are budgeting the costs of Christian education. Below are a few other ways you can make Christian school affordable for your family.

Tuition Assistance:

Of course, tuition assistance programs are offered by most private schools. Tuition assistance provides immediate relief to families that seek Christian education that may be out of reach due to budget concerns. Tuition assistance programs generally have income requirements as well as other stipulations. Casper Christian School is committed to the development of the Mountaineer Award Program!

Donors and sponsors who give to this fund provide financial relief to our students. The Mountaineer Award will be for financially at risk students that have no other means for tuition assistance to receive funds towards their tuition costs, and other school expenses. The Mountaineer Award comes from the heart of CCS, its mission, vision, and is at the center of what we are about.

Educational Savings Plans:

Many states may offer a tax benefit to those who send their children to private school. While that is not an option yet in Wyoming, there are other tax benefits offered through Educational Savings Plans. Your accountant may be able to advise you about the best ways you can maximize on private schooling for your students.

 Educational scholarships in Wyoming:

“When it comes to education, everyone should have options. But the sad truth is not everyone does. Children from low-income families are more likely to be trapped in failing schools with nowhere else to go. But we’re changing that.” – ACE Scholarships

While tuition programs are never a guarantee for awards, they are options that should not go unnoticed. Because, all students, regardless of financial ability, should have a choice in where they attend school. When limited financial budgets stand in the way of giving a student an opportunity to establish Biblical foundations for life, other options should be considered, prayed for and applied for.

Tuition Discounts:

Tuition discounts are a great resource offered through most Christian Schools for certain criteria met in regards to tuition costs. The criteria can be in regards to paying tuition in full, becoming a staff member or volunteer, multi-student discounts and much more. Casper Christian School has on-going discounts available. Check out what we offer and save on your 2021-2022 student enrollment.

At CCS you can receive a variety of discounts on tuition! Be sure to ask for ways you can save on tuition each year. Here are a few ways you can save on tuition:

Fundraising:

There is no greater way to involve students in the funding of an opportunity like Christian education. When a student has “skin in the game” they are much more likely to appreciate the gift of education through a Biblical worldview. Casper Christian School recommends starting your fundraising efforts by sharing the Christian school experience with friends and family that can assist through financial gifts and tuition support.

We recognize the great need to receive help in paying tuition. Fundraising opportunities hosted by the school will come up throughout the year for the students of Casper Christian School!

This is a few ways you can bring the costs of Christian schooling down and ensure a faith based education for your child. Get creative! Look over your budget and cut any unwanted or unneeded costs. Some parents (or students) may even pick up a part-time job to make the generational and eternal investment of a Christ centered education.

Christian School is an Investment

Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2

Christian parents want their children transformed by the gospel into compassionate, Christ centered adults. Becoming disciples of Jesus Christ who are prepared to live and lead for the glory of God is at the heart of a parents training efforts.

Research by the Barna Institute reveals 3 key ways in which graduates of Protestant Evangelical High Schools differed from public school graduates.

  • Graduates report significantly higher belief in orthodox Christian teachings.
  • They were much more likely to pray, read the Bible, attend church regularly and tithe.
  • Christian school graduates were less likely to switch religious affiliation or to turn from the faith of their childhood.
The Fruit of Christian Education

The affordability of a Christian education is one of the biggest challenges for families. You might be asking how you can afford to send your kids to a Christian School?
